NYX (cerryculture.com) haul

Order arrived in just 3 days even with holiday rush! :) I ordered on the morning of the 24th (Christmas Eve) and it got here either…the day after Christmas or the day after that..can’t remember, but it was quick! :)

Oh oh oh! Also my book (Christmas present that I asked for) finally came :D My mom ordered it from Amazon and it took like 2 weeks to get here! aaah.. but it’s a great book! Very informative! Aubrey (fafinettex3 on YT) did a video on the skincare section of the book. It’s a good sneak peek to see if you’d be interested :)

First off, NYX trio in AQUAMARINE. Looking for blue eyeshadow? This is a great trio with 3 beautiful blue colors!

NYX jumbo pencil in MILK. I usually use cottage cheese, but when rubbed onto your eyelid it is a really frosty sheer “off white” color, compared to milk which is a pure matte white; love it!

NYX single eyeshadow in Highlite! Love this! It’s such an awesome skin-toned completely matte color. Such a perfect highlighter!

(4) NYX round lipsticks in SKY PINK, HARMONICA, NARCISSUS, and STRAWBERRY MILK (not in order with FIRST picture). All colors are swatched and named according to the right color. :) (did that make sense i hope? lol)

Colors that enhance blue eyes

This post is about colors that make blue eyes look brighter, blue...er, and more noticable!

So after doing some research, I found out that warm browns, peaches, orange, and rose colors are good shadow colors to use on blue eyes. Basically, to make you eyes really POP, use colors that contrast your eye color! OF COURSE, wear whatever colors you want!! But those are just the colors that will really make blue eyes stand out. :) Blue eyeshadow similar tone to your eyes will look like one big blue ball, lol... at least it did on me :P Still, if it's pretty, go for it!

See the difference?

EVERYDAY MINERALS

Hi!!

HERE are a bunch of pictures from my everyday minerals order!

Like I said, I got the 6 piece custom kit. Check out the video for what I got. I also included all the samples that I've ever gotten (which is two free kits worth). If you're interested in trying out mineral makeup, then check out everyday minerals.com

IMPORTANT: when choosing your foundation formula (either original glo, semi-matte, matte, or intensive) just know this: if you have dry skin that needs little coverage, I would try original glo. If you have combination skin with minor or little "imperfections", try semi-matte. For people with oily skin, try matte. For those with any type of skin (especially acne, although not major), try the intensive.

What I got (in my 6 piece custom kit)....
Long Handled Kabuki Brush
New Flat Top Buffer Brush
Start to Finish Rice Powder (fair)
Cool-Fair foundation (intensive)
Mint concealer
Intensive fair concealer

***Click the LINKS if you're not able to see the whole picture, my blog template cuts them off!***

Smokey purple & wonkey eye

Hi!

So a couple days ago I decided to do a purple smokey eye. It's not very dramatic, because I hate putting liner on my waterline (which really makes a smokey eye smokey). But anyways, I think it turned out very pretty; I love the colors :)

ALSO... whoever's reading this: please tell me if I'm just imagining I have a wonkey eye (one eye is a different shape than the other) or if you really see it!!?! Third pic, with my eyes open! I noticed this in all of the pictures of myself, but am I just being too observant or something??? I'm pretty self-contious about it, b/c whever I smile big, I have to really concentrate on not squinting one eye... my left eye squints & gets much smaller than my right! It's very odd, lol.

hehe oh brother! :)

Hope everyone had a fab Halloween, & got lotsa left-over candy to eat!! Don't forget to brush your teeth :D

Halloween, 80s glam

Hi!
Hope you had a fun & safe Halloween! I though I would be content just staying home and passing out candy to the trick-or-treaters, but then everyone else left and I got so bored.

So this Halloween I dressed up as "80's glam". If I were to re-do it, I wouldn't have gone so heavy on the eye makeup! It was SUCH a pain to get off!! Hah, but still it was fun to do something that I don't normally do.

Smokey eyes:

THen, it turned into "80's glam...Madonna inspired" (I'm not a fan of Madonna, but she was THE 80s glam icon!...

I just uploaded my newest video, "Glamorous makeup on a budget tutorial"! I really love the look, especially the lipstick color! :) It's super easy to do, so check it out!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRZYdmLVEgI

On another note... I got my everyday minerals package yesterday WAHOOO! :D Super excited to be restocked with my mineral makeup! I'm really glad it got here in only THREE days cause I was completely out of my sample foundation!

Did you know....
there are certain chemicals in foundation that can cause cancer? Switch to mineral makeup, it's much healthier for your skin!

Nice find at Marshalls!

Hi! :)

Okay, so I just had to post this! I went shopping at Marshalls today, because I heard they sell some good makeup at a discounted price and I wanted to check it out. I never even knew Marshalls sold makeup! They had Lacome, Stila, Too Faced (a full size of lash injection mascara, lip injection gloss, and wrinkle injection filler for only $16!)... but I had no need whatsoever for any of those things, so I steered away (yay me, lol). However, what caught my eye was this M.B. York survival of the prettiest "FULL FACE ARTILLERY" kit. It has 6 shadows, an all over face powder (I'll probably use it as eyeshadow), 2 lipsticks, and 2 blushes. I'm thinking "Dang...this is only 8 bucks and the colors are soo pretty.. I'm totally getting this!" I've never heard of M.B. York before though, so I didn't know if it was a good brand or anything like that. So now that I'm home, I was curious to see how much the actual company is selling it for. Guess how much? NINETY-FIVE dollars!!!! Oh-my-gosh...seriously?? (You can check it out and see a picture here: http://mbyork.com/fullface.html)

The colors are so pretty, and really pigmented! They are, however, verrrry powdery. Luckily, I don't really mind that too much at all, so I'm happy. :) :) :)

So if you're looking for good quality makeup at a decent price, check out your Marshalls! Just know that there is only a small section, and you'll have to look around probably. Mine was around the accessories & bath stuff.

P.S. If you don't have a Marshalls near you, check out T.J. Maxx...I'm pretty sure they are owned by the same corp.

Just a quick post about lead in makeup

Just a quick post... A girl on makeupgeek.com forums posted this thread about lead found it some makeup. Near the bottom it says a few drugstore brands that actually have more lead in makeup than others, so I thought that was a little interesting. Mostly, I'm just posting this for my own reference, hehe. :)

http://www.makeupgeek.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=6182

(*I didn't write this*) ...

".... However, I would spend much more time worrying about lead in lipsticks than in eyeshadow.Read:http://www.safecosmetics.org/faqs/lipstick.cfm"Does lipstick really contain lead?A: According to independent lab tests initiated by the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, yes, some lipsticks available for sale in 2007 contain lead. The report, “A Poison Kiss,” names the brands tested and the levels of lead found in them. More than half of 33 top-brand lipsticks tested (61%) contained detectable levels of lead, with levels ranging from 0.03 to 0.65 parts per million (ppm). One-third of the lipsticks exceeded the 0.1 ppm FDA lead limit for candy – a standard established to protect children from directly ingesting lead. Among the brands tested found to have the highest lead levels were L’Oreal, Cover Girl and Christian Dior – showing that the more expensive brands are no safer than drugstore brands." "

Organizing vanity, upcoming Halloween

Hi!

Today I have been very lazy... but I did manage to get out of the house for a couple hours with my mom, and I picked up a few things that I could use to organize. I got these SUUUPER pretty jars that have purple and blue with turquoise tiles around them. They were only $4 each, so I got 2 of those, which I using one for my face brushes, and the other for my eye brushes. I also got another smaller clear glass jar to hold my combs and smaller brushes, stuff like that. I also spent a looong time yesterday & today completely organizing my vanity...and dare I say, it's BEAUTIFUL!! Lol, I loooove organizing!! I'm so happy with the way it turned out. I should post some pictures if I get around to it!

On another subject, it's so weird, no matter how long I spend cleaning my room, it gets messy again in like a week!! Every tuesday (usually tuesday) when I'm off from school, I clean my room. There's just so much clutter, I think that's the problem. My mother says I tend to "hoard" things...but what does she know? She never keeps anything! Pshh, haha (love you mommy! :)).. I guess I keep things I don't need sometimes...like old assignments from high school and stuff like that. But it's hard to throw things away, even if you don't REALLY need them, when I think about all the hooooooours and hours I put into it. I'm just going to have to get over that I guess!

I found this neat site where it tells what people "think of" when they see certain colors. Apparently, people tend to get in fights more when they're in a yellow room. Interesting... our living room is yellow!! Hmmmm....

:)

Halloween is in 6 days, oh my goodness! I'm dressing up as "80's glam". I got this poofy hot pink/magenta dress that has a sweetheart neckline, and I'm pairing it with black flishnets & black flats with lace. No heels here!! ( http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/graphic/2007/05/07/GR2007050700484.html ) I'm going to crimp my hair and have feathered bangs. I love staying home & watching Halloween movies, while waiting for the trick or treaters to come by!! Anyone who looks too old to be out trick or treating will get candy from my special bucket...MUAHAHAAAA. They will be SMALL TINY little pieces of candy, because if they look old enough to have a job, then they can buy their own doggon candy man!!!!
Yanna whatI mean?! Little kids will get a decent size candy bar from the normal candy bucket :D

Sore eyes, awesome aunt, and subway :)

Hello!! So I've been playing around with makeup for a couple hours today, & I got some awesome ideas for some new looks which I'm excited about. Can't wait to make the vids for them :) HOWEVER, my eyes are like, sooo sore right now because of all the removal of my eyemakeup! Aaay! Right around my eyes have been kindof dry and red already, so it was torture after "scrubbing" my eyes after taking my makeup off for the 3rd time. It's times like these when I pull out my aloe vera lotion! I got this as part of a set from The Body Shop, and I just put it around my eyes when they are chapped & irritated. It stinks really bad, but I think that's maybe just the plant that stinks? 'Cause I know it's not expired yet. Oh well, I can deal with a little bit of stinkiness for soothing relief! Lol.

Alsooo, I just got a little present from my aunt yesterday! She's an Avon rep, so I asked her how she felt about the magix face pretector (is that what it's called?) anyways, it's got SPF 20 in it and I thought it might be good as a face primer. So she said she had some that was barely used, and she sent it to me. Actually, she sent it to: "Sarah Imahottie" LOL, she's too funny! I bet the mailman got a chuckle out of that one, too! ;) Anyways, it's working really good so far! It does, however, have a very ODD scent to it!! I know it may seem like I'm rambling on about scents, like I'm super picky or something, but I'm not, I promise! I'm just a "scent person" I guess you could say. I smell everything, lol. Well, everything that I don't think will smell bad :P

Also!! Guess what? I logged onto YT today & saw that someone rated my video 5 star! :D Yippee! I feel special knowing that someone liked my video! ;D Well, I think that's it. I'm gonna go munch on my left over subway I had for lunch today... MMM! :)

Light pink eyes

Just finished a video for youtube, it's taking foreeever to upload! It's a look I did using the 88 eyeshadow palette from ebay user bunbuncity... light pinks.

I almost hate to even post a picture, because it doesn't do the colors justice! The lighting was under tungsten, and it just didn't pick up the right balance... plus the focus was off. ANYWAYS... lol, I'm done complaining. :P

I also did a brown neutral look... but I don't think I'm going to upload it today. I'll probably re-do it for later.
